Who Should Not Get the Pfizer Vaccine?

The Pfizer vaccine is a vital tool in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). While the vaccine is generally considered safe and effective, there are certain groups of people who should not get the vaccine.

Pregnant Women: Since the safety of the vaccine has not been tested in pregnant women, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that pregnant women should not get the Pfizer vaccine.

Children: The Pfizer vaccine is not approved for use in children under the age of 16.

People with Severe Allergies: People who have had severe allergic reactions to vaccines or injectable medications should not get the Pfizer vaccine.

People with Weakened Immunity: People with weakened immunity should not get the Pfizer vaccine, as it may not be as effective in them.

People with Certain Medical Conditions: People with certain medical conditions, such as those with severe heart, lung, or kidney disease, should not get the Pfizer vaccine.

It is important to consult with your doctor before getting the Pfizer vaccine, to ensure that it is safe for you to get the vaccine.

Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine is not recommended for people with severe allergic reactions to any of its ingredients, or to a previous dose of the vaccine. People with weakened immune systems, such as those taking immunosuppressant medications, should speak to their doctor before deciding to get the vaccine. Additionally, pregnant or breastfeeding women should wait until more data is available to make a decision about getting the vaccine. Lastly, anyone under the age of 16 should not receive the Pfizer vaccine at this time.
