The Prophet who foretold the coming of Prophet Muhammad is Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him). He is referred to as the 'Father of the Prophets'. According to Islamic tradition, it was Prophet Abraham who first predicted the coming of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in a dream.

Prophet Abraham's Prediction

In the dream, Prophet Abraham saw himself sacrificing a ram in place of his son Ishmael. This is known as the 'sacrifice of Ishmael'. It was then that he realized that a great Prophet would be born in the last days, from the progeny of Ishmael. He prayed to Allah that He would send the chosen Prophet and promised to sacrifice his son in obedience to the command of Allah.

The Significance of the Sacrifice

The significance of the sacrifice of Ishmael is that it was an indication of the coming of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Prophet Abraham's sacrifice was an act of obedience to the command of Allah and it was also a sign of his faith and belief in Allah's promise.

Prophet Muhammad's Coming Fulfilled

The coming of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fulfilled the prophecy of Prophet Abraham. He brought with him the message of Islam and the teachings of the Quran, which were the last divine revelations to humankind.

Conclusion

Prophet Abraham's prophecy of the coming of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was fulfilled and his sacrifice of Ishmael was a sign of his faith and belief in Allah's promise. This shows the power of faith and obedience to Allah and His commands.

The prophet who is most widely believed to have foretold the coming of Prophet Muhammad is the Prophet Isaiah. He is believed to have prophesied the coming of a Messenger of God who would bring justice and mercy to the world. In the Book of Isaiah, there is a passage which reads, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God." This is believed to be a reference to Prophet Muhammad's mission as a Messenger of God.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was foretold by many prophets before him, but the most notable were Prophet Abraham, Prophet Moses, and Prophet Jesus, peace be upon them all. Abraham foretold of a coming nation who would worship Allah alone. Moses prophesied of a messenger who would come after him, and Jesus foretold a prophet would be sent after him to confirm the truth of his teachings. All of these prophecies were fulfilled in the coming of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He was the perfect leader and role model for mankind, with a message of peace, justice, and mercy for all creation. May Allah bless him and grant him peace.
