Aspergillosis is a fungal infection caused by the Aspergillus fungus. It can affect any organ in the body, but the most commonly affected organ is the lungs. Symptoms of aspergillosis include coughing, shortness of breath, chest pain, and fever. Other organs can also be affected, such as the sinuses, ears, and skin. Aspergillosis can also cause infections in the brain, heart, eyes, and other organs. Treatment for aspergillosis typically involves antifungal medications, however, depending on the severity of the infection, surgery may also be necessary. If left untreated, aspergillosis can lead to serious complications and even death.
