Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum and I'm looking for some help with a question about autoimmune hemolytic anemia. I'm wondering which of the following is the most common type of autoimmune hemolytic anemia? I'm not sure what this condition is and I would love some help understanding it. Could someone please explain what it is and what the most common type is? Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

The most common type of autoimmune hemolytic anemia is Warm Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (WAHA). WAHA occurs when a person's immune system mistakenly identifies their own red blood cells as foreign and attacks them. This type of autoimmune hemolytic anemia is usually caused by an underlying medical condition such as an infection, autoimmune disorder, or drug reaction. Symptoms of WAHA can include fatigue, jaundice, shortness of breath, and dark urine. Treatment of WAHA usually involves identifying and treating the underlying cause, and may include the use of medications to suppress the immune system, blood transfusions, and/or splenectomy.
