Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone here can help me with some information about carcinoid tumors. Specifically, I'm looking to find out what the other name for this type of tumor is. I've heard it referred to as something else but I'm not sure what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Carcinoid tumor is also known as a neuroendocrine tumor. Neuroendocrine tumors are a type of cancer that begin in the cells of the neuroendocrine system. This system is responsible for producing hormones that help regulate the body's metabolism, growth, and development. Carcinoid tumors are slow-growing and typically form in the lungs, digestive system, or other organs. They can be benign (noncancerous) or malignant (cancerous).

Carcinoid tumors, also known as neuroendocrine tumors, are slow-growing tumors that originate in the neuroendocrine cells. These cells are found in the lungs, gastrointestinal tract, and other organs. Carcinoid tumors are rare and can cause a wide variety of symptoms including abdominal pain, diarrhea, flushing, and wheezing. Treatment for carcinoid tumors depends on the size and location of the tumor, but can include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.

Carcinoid tumors are also known as neuroendocrine tumors. These tumors are slow-growing and usually originate in the digestive tract, lungs, or other parts of the body that have neuroendocrine cells. They are typically benign, but can spread to other organs and become malignant. Treatment generally involves surgery to remove the tumor and sometimes chemotherapy or radiotherapy. In some cases, medications such as somatostatin analogs may be used to help control the tumor's growth and reduce symptoms.
