What is the difference between strangling and strangulation

I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. What is the difference between strangling and strangulation? I'm not sure if I'm understanding the distinction between the two correctly and would love to hear from other forum users who might have some insight. Is there a difference in terms of the severity of the act? Or does one involve more physical contact than the other? I'm just not sure and would really appreciate any help or clarification on this topic.

Strangling and strangulation are often used interchangeably, but there is a significant difference between the two. Strangling is the act of cutting off air and/or blood circulation to the neck by applying pressure to the neck with the hands, arms, or a ligature. Strangulation is the act of cutting off air to the neck by applying pressure to the neck with an object such as a rope, cord, or other object.

Strangling

Strangling is a form of asphyxiation caused by applying pressure to the neck with the hands, arms, or a ligature. Strangling is typically done by wrapping the hands, arms, or a ligature around the neck of the victim and applying pressure by squeezing or pressing the neck. Strangling can be done intentionally or unintentionally, and it can be done with or without the victim's consent. Strangling can be fatal, and it can also lead to permanent brain damage if the victim survives.

Strangulation

Strangulation is a form of asphyxiation caused by applying pressure to the neck with an object such as a rope, cord, or other object. Strangulation is typically done by placing an object around the neck of the victim and applying pressure by tightening or pulling the object. Strangulation is typically done intentionally and without the victim's consent. Strangulation can be fatal, and it can also lead to permanent brain damage if the victim survives.

Strangling and strangulation are both forms of suffocation, but there are some important differences between them. Strangling is when someone applies pressure to the neck, usually with their hands, to restrict the flow of air and blood. Strangulation, on the other hand, involves using an object to apply pressure to the neck, such as a belt or rope, and is generally a more serious offence. In either case, the victim can suffer from oxygen deprivation or even death.

Strangling and strangulation are both forms of asphyxiation, but they are different in terms of how the airway is blocked. Strangling involves the use of hands, arms, or other objects to compress the throat or neck, while strangulation is the constriction of the airway by an external object such as a ligature, rope, or clothing. Both can lead to unconsciousness or death due to lack of oxygen. Strangling is usually done with the intention of causing harm, while strangulation often occurs in cases of accidental strangulation such as hanging.

Strangling and strangulation are two terms that are often used interchangeably, though they do have distinct meanings. Strangling is a form of asphyxiation caused by applying pressure to the neck and throat with the hands, arms, or other objects. It is often used in reference to attempted or completed homicides. Strangulation, on the other hand, is a form of asphyxiation caused by the closure of the airway due to external pressure on the neck. This commonly occurs when an assailant wraps their hands, arms, legs, or an object around the victim’s neck. Strangulation is often used in reference to attempted or completed homicides, but can also be used in reference to non-fatal assaults.

Strangulation is the act of compressing the neck of a person to the point of partial or complete asphyxiation. Strangling is a form of strangulation, but it specifically involves the use of the hands or a ligature such as a rope, scarf, or wire. Strangulation is a more serious form of assault that can result in death, while strangling is typically considered a less severe form of physical restraint.
