Hi everyone,

I’m new to this forum and I’m hoping to get some help. I’m looking into autoimmune hemolytic anemia and trying to learn more about it. What I’m particularly interested in is what the most common type of autoimmune hemolytic anemia is. I’ve done some research, but I’m still a bit confused. Does anyone here have any insights or experience with this condition? Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated.

Cevap: Autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) is a type of anemia that occurs when the body's immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy red blood cells. The most common type of AIHA is warm autoimmune hemolytic anemia (WAIHA), which is caused by antibodies that bind to and destroy red blood cells at normal body temperatures. Other types of AIHA include cold agglutinin disease, paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria, and drug-induced AIHA. Treatment for AIHA may involve immunosuppressive medications, intravenous immune globulins, or plasma exchange.
