Hello everyone,

I hope you can help me out. I'm looking for another name for a fatty liver and I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know what it might be called? I've done some research but haven't been able to find the answer.

I know that fatty liver is a medical condition that can be caused by a number of factors, such as excessive alcohol consumption, obesity, and diabetes. I'm not sure if the condition has another name, and I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me out.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The medical term for fatty liver is "hepatic steatosis". This is when fat accumulates in the liver, most often due to excessive alcohol consumption or obesity. It can also be caused by certain medications, genetics, and other health issues. If left untreated, fatty liver can progress to serious health complications, such as cirrhosis and liver failure. It is important to treat this condition and make necessary lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of further damage to the liver.

Another name for a fatty liver is steatosis. Steatosis is the medical term for an accumulation of fat in the cells of the liver caused by an underlying metabolic disorder. It is a common type of liver disease that can range from mild to severe, and is caused by a variety of factors. These include excessive alcohol consumption, obesity, diabetes, viral hepatitis, and certain medications and toxins. Symptoms of steatosis include fatigue, abdominal pain, nausea, jaundice, and tenderness in the upper right abdomen. In more severe cases, it can cause cirrhosis, liver failure, and even death. Treatment typically involves lifestyle modifications such as weight loss, reduced alcohol consumption, and a healthy diet.
