Hello everyone!

I am looking for some assistance with understanding ADHD Type C. I have heard of ADHD Type A and Type B, but I am not familiar with this type. Can anyone help me to understand what ADHD Type C is? What are the symptoms and treatments associated with it? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

ADHD Type C is a subtype of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) that is characterized by significant difficulty with executive functioning skills. Executive functioning skills are the cognitive abilities that help an individual organize, manage and remember information. These skills are essential for people to plan, prioritize, initiate, sequence, monitor and complete tasks. People with ADHD Type C often struggle with planning, organizing, sequencing, initiating, monitoring and completing tasks, as well as difficulty with time management, working memory and problem solving.

Common symptoms of ADHD Type C include difficulty with organization, planning, prioritizing, problem solving, and time management. People with ADHD Type C may also have difficulty with following directions, staying on task, and completing tasks. Additionally, people with ADHD Type C may experience social challenges, such as difficulty making and keeping friends.

Treatment for ADHD Type C typically involves a combination of medication, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, and educational interventions. Medication can help reduce symptoms of inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. Psychotherapy can help address coping skills, social skills, and executive functioning skills. Lifestyle changes can include establishing a regular sleep routine, exercising regularly, eating healthy, and maintaining a consistent routine. Educational interventions can include accommodations, such as additional time on tests, or a quiet workspace.

ADHD Type C is a complex disorder that can significantly impact an individual's functioning in multiple areas of life. With proper treatment, individuals with ADHD Type C can learn the skills needed to manage their symptoms and lead successful lives.

ADHD Type C is an increasingly recognized type of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) characterized by predominantly inattentive symptoms. It is also referred to as Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Predominantly Inattentive Presentation.

People with ADHD Type C may not show signs of hyperactivity, but they have difficulty focusing on tasks, are easily distracted, and often miss details. They may have difficulty organizing tasks, remembering details, following instructions, and completing tasks on time. They may also procrastinate, avoid tasks, or become overwhelmed by tasks.

The diagnosis of ADHD Type C is based on a comprehensive assessment of the individual’s symptoms, including the presence of inattentive symptoms that are not explained by another mental health disorder or medical condition. The assessment should also include a review of the individual’s medical and mental health history, family history, academic performance, and behavior.

People with ADHD Type C can benefit from treatment that includes a combination of medication, psychotherapy, and lifestyle changes. Medication can help improve focus and reduce impulsivity. Psychotherapy can help the person learn techniques to manage their symptoms, such as planning and problem-solving skills. Lifestyle changes, such as regular exercise and healthy eating, can also help improve attention and reduce impulsivity.

It is important to remember that ADHD Type C is a complex disorder and each person’s symptoms and needs are unique. It is important to consult a qualified professional to ensure that the best treatment plan is developed to meet the individual’s needs.

Question: What is ADHD Type C?

ADHD Type C, otherwise known as Comorbid ADHD, is a form of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder that is combined with other mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, or substance abuse. It is important to note that ADHD Type C can be caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors, and is not necessarily the result of either alone. Symptoms can vary greatly, but may include difficulty focusing or concentrating, difficulty managing emotions, impulsivity, difficulty following instructions, and restlessness. Treatment may include medication, psychotherapy, and lifestyle changes.
