I'm really curious about neoplasms and what they mean. Can anyone explain it to me in a way that's easy to understand? I've done some research but still don't really understand what they are.

Neoplasm is a general term used to refer to any abnormal tissue growth caused by an abnormal and uncontrolled division of cells. Neoplasms can be benign or malignant, and they can range in size from a few cells to a large mass. Benign neoplasms are usually localized and do not spread to other parts of the body. Malignant neoplasms, also known as cancer, can invade other tissues and organs and spread to other parts of the body. Neoplasms can occur in any tissue or organ in the body, but some are more common than others.
