I'm looking for some help understanding the meaning of a lesion in a pathology result. Is anyone able to provide some insight into what this could mean? I'm a bit confused as to whether it is a positive or negative result. Could someone please explain what a lesion means in terms of a pathology result? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lesion is a general term used in pathology to refer to any abnormality or pathological change in the structure of a body tissue. A lesion can be caused by trauma, infection, or other disease processes. It can be present on the surface of the skin, or it can involve the deeper structures such as organs or bones. Lesions may be malignant (cancerous) or benign (non-cancerous). Depending on their appearance and location, lesions may be classified as ulcers, plaques, tumors, cysts, or abscesses. The size, shape, and color of a lesion can provide important clues about its cause and how it should be treated.
