Core Symptoms of ASD

The two core symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are social communication deficits and restricted interests and repetitive behaviors.

Social Communication Deficits involve difficulty in initiating and maintaining social relationships, inability to understand social cues and body language, and difficulty engaging in back-and-forth conversations.

Restricted Interests and Repetitive Behaviors include highly focused interests and activities, difficulty transitioning between activities, and repetitive behaviors such as hand-flapping, rocking, and repeating words or phrases.

Two core symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are difficulties with social communication and interaction, and restricted or repetitive patterns of behavior. People with ASD may struggle to understand nonverbal communication, such as facial expressions, and may not be able to effectively engage in conversations with others. They may also have difficulty interpreting other people’s thoughts, feelings, and points of view. Additionally, people with ASD may engage in repetitive movements, such as hand flapping, or have a restricted range of interests and activities. They may also become fixated on certain topics or objects, and have difficulty adapting to changes in routine.

Two core symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are difficulties with social communication and social interaction, and restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities. People with autism often have difficulty interpreting social cues, understanding the perspectives of others, and making meaningful conversation. They may also show signs of repetitive behaviors, such as hand-flapping, rocking, or spinning. Other common symptoms include difficulty with change, sensory sensitivities, and difficulty following directions.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurological disorder that affects the way an individual interacts with their environment and communicates with others. ASD is characterized by two core symptoms: impairments in social communication and repetitive behavior.

Impairments in social communication involve difficulty in understanding and using language, as well as difficulty in building relationships with others. Individuals with ASD may be unable to make eye contact, have difficulty understanding nonverbal communication, and may be unable to interpret the feelings of others. They may also have difficulty initiating conversations with others and responding to social cues.

Repetitive behavior involves engaging in repetitive behaviors or activities, such as rocking, flapping, or repeating words and phrases. Individuals with ASD often have difficulty transitioning from one activity to another, and may become fixated on certain topics or objects. They may also have difficulty with change and need to maintain a strict routine.

These two core symptoms of ASD can vary in severity, from mild to severe, and can affect individuals differently. It is important to remember that no two individuals with ASD are the same, and that each individual may present a unique combination of symptoms.
