Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and would love to get some feedback and advice from those who have experience with ASD. I am trying to understand what the three main symptoms of ASD are and was wondering if anyone could help me out? I understand it is a complex disorder, but I am hoping to gain a better understanding of the symptoms and how they manifest.

Symptoms of ASD

There are three main symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): difficulties with social interaction, communication challenges, and repetitive or restricted behavior.

Social interaction difficulties are characterized by an inability to form meaningful social relationships, difficulty reading social cues, and lack of interest in making friends. People with ASD may also have difficulty understanding jokes, sarcasm, or expressions of emotion.

Communication challenges involve difficulty expressing themselves in a way that is understandable to others. They may have difficulty understanding verbal instructions or following conversations. They may also have difficulty using language to express their thoughts and feelings.

Repetitive or restricted behavior includes performing the same activities or rituals over and over again, or exhibiting an insistence on sameness. People with ASD may also be sensitive to certain smells, tastes, sounds, or textures. They may be overly focused on one particular topic or activity, or engage in self-stimulating behavior such as rocking or hand-flapping.

The three main symptoms of ASD are difficulties in social interaction, communication and restricted or repetitive behaviours. People with ASD may have difficulty in understanding social cues, making conversation, forming relationships and expressing emotions. They may also have difficulty with verbal communication, as well as non-verbal communication, such as body language. Repetitive behaviours can include repetitive movements, such as hand-flapping or rocking, as well as repetitive use of language or insistence on sameness. People with ASD may also have restricted interests and intense preoccupations.

The three primary symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are impaired social interaction, difficulty with communication, and restrictive and repetitive behaviors. People with ASD often have difficulty making friends and understanding social cues, and they may be hypersensitive to sensory input. They may also have difficulty with verbal and nonverbal communication, such as difficulty carrying on conversations or understanding jokes. Finally, they may exhibit repetitive behaviors, such as lining up objects or engaging in restrictive behavior. All of these symptoms can vary in intensity and may change over time.

The three main symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are difficulties with social interaction, communication, and restricted, repetitive behaviors.

Social Interaction: People with ASD may have difficulty communicating with others. They may find it hard to understand facial expressions, gestures, and tone of voice. They may also be unaware of socially accepted behaviors or how to interact with others.

Communication: People with ASD may have difficulty communicating with others. They may have difficulty understanding and using verbal language, and may have difficulty expressing their own needs. They may also have trouble understanding and responding to nonverbal communication, such as facial expressions and body language.

Restricted, Repetitive Behaviors: People with ASD may display repetitive behaviors such as hand flapping, rocking, and repeating words or phrases. They may also become fixated on certain objects or activities, and may have difficulty transitioning from one activity to another. Additionally, they may have sensory sensitivities, such as an aversion to certain sounds or textures.

The three main symptoms of ASD, as defined by the American Academy of Pediatrics, are impairments in social communication, social interaction, and restricted and repetitive behaviors. Social communication impairments involve difficulty with verbal and nonverbal communication, such as gestures, facial expressions, and tone of voice. Social interaction impairments involve difficulty with forming relationships, understanding social cues, and responding to others appropriately. Restricted and repetitive behaviors involve engaging in repetitive activities, fixating on objects, and having difficulty with changes in routine.

The three main symptoms of ASD are impaired social interaction, communication difficulties, and restricted/repetitive behaviors. Individuals with ASD often have difficulty with social interactions, such as making eye contact, responding to verbal cues, and understanding body language. They may have difficulty with verbal communication, such as initiating conversations, expressing emotions, and using appropriate language. Finally, they may display restricted/repetitive behaviors, such as lining up objects, repeating words or phrases, and engaging in self-stimulatory activities. All of these symptoms can be present to varying degrees, and often manifest differently depending on the individual.
