Level 3 Autism Characteristics
Level 3 Autism, also known as Autistic Disorder, is classified as a severe form of autism spectrum disorder. People with Level 3 Autism have significant difficulty with communication, social interaction, and behavior. They also have significant delays in language and motor skills.
Communication: People with Level 3 Autism have difficulty with both verbal and non-verbal communication. They may have difficulty understanding spoken language, may be unable to initiate or maintain conversations, and may repeat words and phrases. They may also have difficulty expressing their own thoughts and feelings.
Social Interaction: People with Level 3 Autism may have difficulty forming relationships and interacting with others. They may be socially isolated, withdrawn, or have difficulty understanding social cues. They may also have difficulty understanding the emotions and perspectives of others.
Behavior: People with Level 3 Autism may have difficulty controlling their emotions and behavior. They may become easily overwhelmed or upset, or act out in socially inappropriate ways. They may also have difficulty with transitions or changes in routine.
Language: People with Level 3 Autism may have difficulty with expressive language, or difficulty using words to communicate their thoughts and feelings. They may also have difficulty understanding spoken language, or difficulty understanding the meaning of words.
Motor Skills: People with Level 3 Autism may have difficulty with motor skills, such as walking, running, and writing. They may also have difficulty with fine motor skills, such as manipulating objects or buttoning clothing.
