Easy labour snacks are snacks that are easy to eat during labour and provide energy, nutrients, and comfort. They can be low-sugar, low-fat options that are light and easy to digest.

Good options include dried fruit, such as raisins, apricots, and figs; nuts and seeds; nut butters; energy bars; yogurt; smoothies; and oatmeal. These snacks can help provide long-lasting energy during labour.

Other foods that are easy to eat during labour are crackers; toast with peanut butter; whole grain cereals; cooked whole grains such as quinoa and brown rice; hummus with vegetables; fresh fruit; and hard-boiled eggs. These snacks can be eaten between contractions or while resting between contractions.

It is important to stay hydrated during labour, so make sure to bring plenty of water, juice, herbal teas, coconut water, or other non-caffeinated beverages to keep you hydrated.

Snacks should be easy to access and prepare, so it is helpful to bring snacks that don't need to be heated or cut. Whole fruits, pre-cut vegetables, and pre-made snacks are all good choices.

Finally, make sure to talk to your caregiver and midwife about any dietary restrictions or allergies. It is important to make sure that your snacks will be safe and comfortable for you during labour.
