I'm hoping to find some help from the forum about Pagets of the nipple. I have recently been diagnosed and I'm curious if anyone has experienced this condition and could tell me if it is itchy? I'm a bit concerned because I'm not sure what to expect and it would be great to hear from someone who has gone through it before.

Paget's disease of the nipple is a rare form of breast cancer. It is most commonly seen in women over 40, though men can also be affected. While the exact cause of Paget's disease is unknown, it is believed to be linked to an underlying pre-existing cancer in the breast.

Symptoms of Paget's Disease of the Nipple

The most common symptom of Paget's disease of the nipple is itching, burning, or tenderness of the nipple and/or areola. Other symptoms can include redness, scaling, flaking, and/or a discharge from the nipple.

Diagnosis of Paget's Disease of the Nipple

If Paget's disease of the nipple is suspected, a biopsy will be done to confirm the diagnosis. This involves taking a small sample of tissue from the affected area and examining it under a microscope. Other tests, such as mammography, ultrasound, or MRI, may also be done.

Treatment of Paget's Disease of the Nipple

Treatment for Paget's disease of the nipple can include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or a combination of these treatments. The treatment plan will depend on the size and stage of the cancer, the patient's age and overall health, and other factors.

No, Paget's of the nipple is not usually itchy. Symptoms of Paget's of the nipple can include redness, flaky dry skin, burning, and irritation, but itching is not typically reported. It is important to see a doctor if you notice any changes to your nipples, as Paget's disease can be a sign of a more serious underlying condition. If you are diagnosed with Paget's of the nipple, treatment typically includes topical and/or oral medications to reduce inflammation and discomfort.

Itchy nipples can be caused by a number of factors, from allergies to infection. Common causes include contact dermatitis, a skin condition which is often caused by an allergy to topical products such as lotions and perfumes. Other causes may include yeast infection, fungal infection or even eczema. If your nipples are itchy, it is important to consult your doctor to determine the cause and best course of action. Depending on the cause, your doctor may recommend an antihistamine or a topical cream or ointment to relieve the symptoms. If the itching persists, other tests may be necessary to determine the underlying cause.

Paget's disease of the nipple, also known as Paget's disease of the breast, is a rare form of cancer that affects the nipple and surrounding area of the breast. It is characterized by an itchy, red and scaly rash on the nipple and areola, as well as a discharge from the nipple.

The itchiness associated with Paget's disease of the nipple is usually mild to moderate in severity, but it can be severe in some cases. In addition to the itchiness, the skin of the nipple and areola may become scaly, red and inflamed. In most cases, the skin may also become thickened and hardened, and may even appear to be flaking off. In some cases, Paget's disease of the nipple may also cause a clear or bloody discharge from the nipple.

It is important to note that the itchiness associated with Paget's disease of the nipple is not the same as that of an infection or other skin condition. If you experience any of the above signs and symptoms of Paget's disease of the nipple, it is important to see your doctor to determine the cause and to determine the most appropriate treatment. Treatment may include antibiotics, topical medications, and/or surgery.

Yes, it is possible for your nipples to become itchy, although it is not a common symptom. It could be caused by a number of factors, including an allergic reaction to a certain product, a skin condition such as eczema, or a fungus or infection such as thrush. If the itching persists, it is important to visit your doctor for a diagnosis and appropriate treatment. In the meantime, you may want to avoid using any harsh soaps or detergents on the area, and wear loose-fitting clothing as much as possible to reduce any irritation.

Yes, itchy nipples can be a symptom of a variety of conditions. Itching is often caused by a skin reaction to sweat or friction, but can also be a sign of an underlying medical issue such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, or an infection like thrush. If the itching persists, it's important to speak to a doctor for further advice and testing.
