Removing stubborn oils can be a difficult task. Firstly it is important to determine what type of oil it is, as it will determine the best method for removal. For example, vegetable oils can usually be removed with a combination of hot water and soap. Grease and motor oils may require a heavier-duty cleaner such as degreaser or a solvent. When using harsh chemicals, make sure to wear protective gloves, a mask, and safety glasses. Once the oil has been treated, it may be necessary to rinse with hot water and soap or a steam cleaner. If the oil has left a persistent stain, a combination of a solvent and a scrubbing brush may be necessary.

To remove stubborn oils, start by using an oil-based cleaner on the affected surface. For tougher stains, use a stronger cleaner like nail polish remover, but be sure to apply it in a well-ventilated area. For light stains, a mild dish detergent mixed with warm water should do the trick. For tougher stains, a combination of baking soda and vinegar can be effective. Lastly, for really tough stains, try rubbing alcohol or a commercial paint thinner. Be sure to read the instructions on the label of the product you choose and always use caution when working with these products.

"I have some stubborn oil stains on my clothes that don't seem to come out with detergent. How can I remove them?"

One of the most effective methods for removing stubborn oil stains is to use a pre-wash treatment. This involves applying a product specifically designed for removing oil stains directly onto the affected area of clothing and then allowing it to sit for several minutes before laundering. For best results, you should also use a laundry detergent that is specifically designed for removing tough stains, and use a higher temperature of water for the wash cycle. If the stain persists, it might be worth trying a stronger product such as bleach or a stain remover.
