I'm a college student and I'm really struggling to get enough sleep. Last night I only got 3 hours of sleep and I'm feeling really exhausted and out of it. How bad is it to only get 3 hours of sleep, and what can I do to make sure I'm getting enough rest? I'd really appreciate any advice or tips from other forum users who have gone through the same thing.

Getting less than seven hours of sleep per night is associated with a variety of health problems, including an increased risk of hypertension, diabetes, obesity, depression, and other chronic conditions. Three hours of sleep per night is considered extreme sleep deprivation and can have serious long-term effects on your health.

Weight Gain: People who do not get enough sleep are more likely to gain weight. This is because their bodies do not have enough time to process and metabolize the food they eat, leading to increased fat storage.

Mental Effects of 3 Hours of Sleep

Getting less than seven hours of sleep can also have a negative effect on mental health. People who only get three hours of sleep per night may experience a range of mental symptoms, including:

Mood Swings: People who do not get enough sleep may have difficulty regulating their emotions. This can lead to increased irritability, anxiety, and depression.
