I really need some help. Does anyone have any experience with impetigo? I understand it is a skin infection, but does it itch? I have been to the doctor and they said it was impetigo, but they didn't mention anything about itching. I'm really worried about it and would appreciate any advice from other forum users who may have gone through this before.

Impetigo is a contagious skin infection that can cause itching and burning. It is caused by bacteria, usually streptococcus or staphylococcus. It is most common in young children, but can affect people of any age.

Symptoms of Impetigo

Impetigo typically begins as small red bumps or blisters that can become painful. The bumps may ooze fluid and form a yellowish-brown crust. The infection usually appears on the face, arms, or legs, but can spread to other parts of the body. Other symptoms include fever, swollen lymph nodes, and fatigue.

Does Impetigo Itch?

Yes, impetigo can cause itching. The infection can spread quickly, so it is important to keep the area clean and dry, and to avoid scratching the affected area. Applying a cold compress or taking an antihistamine may help to reduce the itching. It is also important to keep the area covered with a gauze bandage to prevent the infection from spreading.

Yes, impetigo does itch. It is a highly contagious skin infection caused by bacteria that can spread through contact with another person or through contact with surfaces such as toys, towels, and clothing. The infection is characterized by red sores or blisters that are filled with fluid and may open and crust over. These sores may be found on the face, arms, legs, and diaper area.

When infected with impetigo, the skin may become red, itchy, and uncomfortable. The sores may ooze pus and may be painful. The itching sensation typically worsens after being exposed to heat or when under stress. Scratching the affected area can worsen the symptoms and make the infection spread to other areas of the body.

It is important to seek medical attention if you experience any signs or symptoms of impetigo. Treatment typically includes antibiotics to clear up the infection and topical medications to help reduce itching and inflammation. Proper hygiene is also important in preventing the spread of impetigo.
