I'm hoping to get some help from other forum users about the possibility of having appendicitis without a fever. I'm concerned because I've been experiencing pain in my lower right abdomen for the last few days, but I haven't had a fever. Is it still possible that I have appendicitis? Have any of you ever experienced this before? Are there other symptoms that could be related to appendicitis without a fever? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Can You Have Appendicitis Without a Fever?

Appendicitis is a medical condition where the appendix, a small organ located in the lower right side of the abdomen, becomes inflamed and infected. It is a serious medical condition that requires immediate medical attention.

The most common symptoms of appendicitis include abdominal pain, nausea, fever, and loss of appetite. However, it is possible to have appendicitis without a fever.

Abdominal Pain

Abdominal pain is the most common symptom of appendicitis and it is typically located in the lower right side of the abdomen. This pain usually worsens with movement or when the person takes a deep breath. It may also be accompanied by bloating, vomiting, and loss of appetite.

Nausea and Vomiting

Nausea and vomiting are also common symptoms of appendicitis. They can also be caused by other conditions such as food poisoning or the flu, but they are also present in cases of appendicitis.

Loss of Appetite

Loss of appetite is another common symptom of appendicitis. This is due to the fact that the inflammation causes the abdomen to become tender and the person will not feel like eating.

No Fever

It is possible to have appendicitis without a fever. This is because fever is not always present in cases of appendicitis. In fact, some people may experience symptoms of appendicitis without ever having a fever.

In conclusion, it is possible to have appendicitis without a fever. However, if you experience any of the symptoms listed above, it is important to see a doctor as soon as possible in order to get a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Appendicitis is a medical emergency and can be caused by a blockage in the appendix due to a buildup of stool, parasites, or tumors. Symptoms of appendicitis can vary but typically include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhea, and a lack of appetite. The pain usually starts around the navel and then moves to the lower right side of the abdomen and can become more intense with time.

While fever is one of the most common symptoms of appendicitis, it is not always present. In some cases, the patient may only experience abdominal pain without a fever. Other symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and a lack of appetite can also be present without a fever.

Early diagnosis and treatment are important to prevent the appendix from rupturing. Your doctor may order tests such as a physical examination, blood tests, urine tests, and imaging tests to diagnose appendicitis.
