Can full blood count detect autoimmune disease

I'm looking for help from other forum users about the topic of whether a full blood count can detect autoimmune diseases. I have heard that a full blood count can be used to help diagnose autoimmune conditions, but I'm not sure if it's true.

No, a full blood count (FBC) test alone cannot detect autoimmune diseases. An FBC is a simple blood test which measures the number of red and white blood cells, as well as platelets, in the bloodstream. While a change in these numbers can be an indication of an autoimmune disorder, it will not specifically diagnose it. To diagnose certain autoimmune disorders, additional tests such as an antinuclear antibody test, a thyroid stimulation hormone test, or a rheumatoid factor test may be needed.

No, a full blood count (FBC) does not detect autoimmune disease. An FBC can test for certain markers that may indicate a person has an autoimmune disorder, such as white blood cell count or hemoglobin levels, but these tests are not definitive for diagnosing autoimmune diseases. To definitively diagnose an autoimmune disorder, a doctor must evaluate a person's medical history, lifestyle, and symptoms, in addition to performing additional tests such as an antibody test, imaging tests, or a biopsy.

A full blood count (FBC) is a laboratory test used to measure the amount of various types of blood cells in the body. It can be a useful tool in detecting autoimmune diseases, as it can help identify abnormal levels of red and white blood cells, which can be indicative of underlying inflammation. However, an FBC alone is not enough to make a definitive diagnosis of an autoimmune disorder. Additional tests, such as antibody tests, may be required to confirm a diagnosis.
