Why is azithromycin no longer recommended

I'm looking for some help understanding why azithromycin is no longer recommended. I've heard a few different things, but I'd like to get to the bottom of this and understand why it's no longer a good option for treating bacterial infections. Has anyone else experienced something similar or have any information they can share? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Azithromycin is an antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It was once widely recommended to treat a range of bacterial infections, but in recent years, it has been largely replaced by other antibiotics. Reasons Why Azithromycin Is No Longer Recommended

Antibiotic Resistance Antibiotic resistance is a growing problem and is one of the main reasons why azithromycin is no longer recommended for certain infections. Bacteria can become resistant to antibiotics, making them less effective or even completely ineffective. As a result, the use of azithromycin has been reduced as it is no longer considered an effective treatment for certain bacterial infections.

Side Effects Azithromycin can cause serious side effects in some people, including nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. It can also cause liver damage and an increased risk of heart problems. In some cases, these side effects can be serious or even life-threatening. As a result, azithromycin is no longer recommended for certain bacterial infections.

Availability of Alternatives There are now a number of other antibiotics that are available to treat bacterial infections. These alternatives are generally more effective and have fewer side effects. As a result, they are often preferred over azithromycin.

For these reasons, azithromycin is no longer recommended for certain bacterial infections. If you have any questions about this, it is important to talk to your doctor about the best treatment for your condition.
