Why does my nose run after eating eggs

I'm having an issue with my nose running after eating eggs, and I'm hoping some of the other users on this forum can help me out. I'm not sure if it's a food allergy, or something else, but it's been happening for a few days now. Does anyone else have a similar experience, or know what might be causing my nose to run after eating eggs? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Overview

Eating eggs can cause a runny nose in some people, and this phenomenon is known as the "egg-induced rhinitis" or "egg-induced nasal response". This condition is caused by an allergic reaction to egg proteins, and the symptoms usually last for a few minutes after eating eggs. The most common symptom is a runny nose, but some people may also experience nasal congestion, sneezing, watery eyes, and itchy throat.

Causes of Egg-Induced Rhinitis

Egg proteins are known allergens, and an allergic reaction is the most likely cause of egg-induced rhinitis. The body's immune system reacts to the proteins in the egg as if they were a harmful substance and produces antibodies to fight them. This causes the release of histamine, a chemical that triggers allergic reactions, which can result in a runny nose.

Treatments for Egg-Induced Rhinitis

The best way to treat egg-induced rhinitis is to avoid eating eggs. If you must consume eggs, then try to limit your intake and choose eggs that have been cooked thoroughly. It's also important to avoid foods that contain egg proteins, such as mayonnaise and certain types of pasta. You may also want to try antihistamines or nasal sprays to reduce the symptoms. If the symptoms persist, then you should talk to your doctor about other possible treatments.
