Subtitle: Who is the Living Prophet?
The living prophet is the President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The current living prophet is President Russell M. Nelson. President Nelson was called to be the prophet, seer, and revelator of the Church on January 14, 2018.
The President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only person on the earth who holds the keys of the priesthood and who has the authority to direct the Lord’s Church. The living prophet speaks directly with God and receives revelation for the Church and its members.
President Nelson has a strong desire to help people everywhere come to understand the importance of the gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives. He has said: “My desire is that you will see in every teaching of the Church a reminder of the Lord’s infinite love for you and of His desire to help you become even more like Him.”
President Nelson has dedicated much of his life to the Lord’s service. He has served as an apostle, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and as the seventeenth president of the Church.
He is also an innovative leader and has implemented several new initiatives in the Church. These include the worldwide youth devotional, the face to face events with Church leaders, the Come, Follow Me curriculum, and the global face to face event with President Nelson.
All of these are designed to help members of the Church become more spiritually connected and to increase faith in Jesus Christ. President Nelson has also increased missionary work, inviting all to come unto Christ.
President Nelson has been a beacon of light for the Church and the world. He is a living prophet who has been called of God to lead and guide the Church in these latter days.
