Treatment
Treatment for pancreatic cancer depends on the stage and type of cancer. Surgery is the most common form of treatment, but chemotherapy and radiation may also be used. Unfortunately, due to the aggressive nature of the disease, even with treatment, the outlook for pancreatic cancer is often poor.
Risk Factors
Risk factors for pancreatic cancer include age, family history, smoking, chronic pancreatitis, and obesity. Unfortunately, there are no reliable screening tests that can detect pancreatic cancer at an early stage.
Prevention
The best way to prevent pancreatic cancer is to reduce your risk factors. This includes quitting smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, and exercising regularly. Additionally, eating a nutritious diet that is low in processed foods and high in fruits and vegetables can reduce your risk.
