Types of Cancer That Cause Pain

Cancer can cause pain in various ways, depending on the type and stage of the disease. Pain may be caused by the cancer itself, by treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation, or by other conditions related to cancer. Some of the most common types of cancer that cause pain include bone cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, brain cancer, and ovarian cancer.

Bone Cancer

Bone cancer is a rare type of cancer that occurs when cells in the bones grow out of control. The most common type is called osteosarcoma, and it usually affects the long bones of the body, such as the femur, humerus, and tibia. Bone cancer can cause pain in the affected area, as well as swelling and tenderness.

Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the pancreas, an organ that produces hormones and enzymes that help with digestion. Pancreatic cancer can cause abdominal pain, back pain, and jaundice. It may also cause nausea, vomiting, and weight loss.

Liver Cancer

Liver cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the cells of the liver. It can cause abdominal pain, jaundice, nausea, and weight loss. Liver cancer may also cause fatigue and an enlarged liver, which can be felt as a lump under the ribs.

Brain Cancer

Brain cancer is a type of cancer that occurs in the cells of the brain. It can cause headaches, seizures, vision and speech problems, and personality changes. It can also cause pain in the neck and head area.

Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer is a type of cancer that starts in the ovaries, which are the two small organs in the female reproductive system. It can cause abdominal pain, bloating, and changes in bowel movements. It may also cause nausea, vomiting, and fatigue.

No matter the type of cancer, it's important to seek medical help if you experience any of the symptoms listed above. Your doctor can provide a diagnosis and create a treatment plan to help manage the pain.
