Different Types of Cancer
Cancer is a broad term that is used to describe a group of diseases that cause abnormal cell growth. There are more than 100 types of cancer, and each type is classified based on the type of cell it affects. Some of the most common types of cancer include:
Lung Cancer: Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, and is caused by the abnormal growth of cells in the lungs. It is most commonly caused by smoking, but can also be caused by exposure to certain chemicals and environmental pollutants.
Breast Cancer: Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. It is caused by the abnormal growth of cells in the breast tissue, and can be treated with chemotherapy, radiation, and/or surgery.
Prostate Cancer: Prostate cancer is the second most common type of cancer in men, and is caused by the abnormal growth of cells in the prostate gland. It can be treated with surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy.
Colorectal Cancer: Colorectal cancer is the third most common type of cancer in both men and women. It is caused by the abnormal growth of cells in the colon and/or rectum. It can be treated with surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy.
Skin Cancer: Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States. It is caused by the abnormal growth of cells in the skin, and can be treated with surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy.
Leukemia: Leukemia is a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. It is caused by the abnormal growth of white blood cells, and can be treated with chemotherapy and/or radiation.

All types of cancer can be serious and even life-threatening, but some types of cancer are more dangerous than others. The most dangerous types of cancer include:

Leukemia: Leukemia is a very aggressive type of cancer, and can be fatal if not treated promptly.
Brain Cancer: Brain cancer is a very aggressive type of cancer, and can be fatal if not treated promptly.
Pancreatic Cancer: Pancreatic cancer is a very aggressive type of cancer, and can be fatal if not treated promptly.
Esophageal Cancer: Esophageal cancer is a very aggressive type of cancer, and can be fatal if not treated promptly.
Liver Cancer: Liver cancer is a very aggressive type of cancer, and can be fatal if not treated promptly.
