I'm hoping to get some help with a question I have about diseases that have been eradicated. I'm curious to know which of the following diseases have been completely eradicated from the world. Does anyone know which diseases have been eliminated and how this was achieved? I'd love to hear any information people might have on this topic.

Smallpox

Smallpox is a highly contagious viral disease that has been eradicated worldwide. Smallpox was a major cause of death and disability until the late 20th century. It was declared officially eradicated in 1980, after a massive global effort to eliminate it. The last naturally occurring cases of smallpox were reported in Somalia in 1977. Thanks to vaccination, no one has had to suffer from smallpox since then.

The only human disease that has been completely eradicated is smallpox. It was done through a large-scale vaccination campaign led by the World Health Organization in the late 20th century. This campaign effectively wiped out the virus from the human population and, as a result, smallpox is no longer a threat to human health. Other diseases such as polio and measles have been reduced significantly, but are still present and require ongoing vaccination efforts to keep them in check.

The only human disease that has been completely eradicated is smallpox. Smallpox was declared officially eradicated in 1980 by the World Health Organization (WHO) after a successful global vaccination program. It is the only human disease to have been completely eliminated, although other diseases such as rinderpest and poliomyelitis have been successfully controlled through vaccination. Vaccination has become an essential part of public health strategies in many countries, allowing for the prevention of infectious diseases and their spread.
