Which doctor looks at the jawbone

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to get some advice here as I'm not sure which doctor to go to for an issue I'm having with my jawbone. I was wondering if anyone could help me identify which doctor looks at the jawbone?

I'm starting to experience some pain and discomfort. It started with a sore spot on my jawbone, and it's been getting worse over the last few days. I'm not sure if I should go to a dentist, an orthodontist, an oral surgeon, or even an ENT doctor.

I'm hoping someone here can provide me with some insight and help me identify which doctor to visit for this issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Cevap:
The doctor who looks at the jawbone is typically an oral surgeon or maxillofacial surgeon. These specialists are trained to diagnose and treat conditions that affect the mouth, jaw, face, and neck. They can diagnose and treat injuries, infections, tumors, and developmental issues of the face, mouth, and jaw.

Subtitle: What Does an Oral Surgeon Do?

An oral surgeon is a dental specialist who is trained to diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the jaws, mouth, and face. They can perform a variety of complex surgeries, including tooth extractions, corrective jaw surgery, and the placement of dental implants. Oral surgeons also treat conditions such as cleft lip and palate, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, and facial trauma.

Subtitle: What Does a Maxillofacial Surgeon Do?

A maxillofacial surgeon is a specialist who is trained to diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the face, neck, and jaws. They can perform a variety of complex surgeries, including reconstructive surgery, facial trauma, and the placement of dental implants. Maxillofacial surgeons also treat conditions such as cleft lip and palate, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, and birth defects.
