Swine Flu Transmission
What is Swine Flu?
Swine flu, also called Hog Flu or Pig Flu, is a type of influenza virus that primarily affects pigs. It can also spread to humans, though the risk is low. Human-to-human transmission of swine flu is rare and typically occurs in people who have had direct contact with pigs.
How is Swine Flu Spread?
Swine flu is typically spread through contact with an infected pig or contaminated objects such as feed, water, equipment, or other materials from infected pigs. People can also become infected through contact with an infected person or by inhaling particles from an infected person's coughs or sneezes.
When Does Swine Flu Transmission End?
Swine flu transmission typically ends when the infected pigs have recovered or been removed from the herd. In rare cases, human-to-human transmission of swine flu may occur, but it is usually limited to those who have had direct contact with infected pigs.
