Hello all,
I am looking for some help regarding tests to rule out hemolytic anemia. I would like to know what tests are used to diagnose this condition. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this? Any advice or resources would be greatly appreciated.

Complete Blood Count (CBC)

A complete blood count (CBC) is a test that measures the number of red and white blood cells as well as the amount of hemoglobin in the blood. It can help to detect anemia, including hemolytic anemia, and other abnormalities in the blood.

Reticulocyte Count

A reticulocyte count is a test that measures the number of immature red blood cells in the blood. It can be used to identify whether the bone marrow is producing enough red blood cells and can provide information about the cause of anemia, including hemolytic anemia.

Direct Coombs Test

The direct Coombs test is a blood test that detects antibodies on the surface of red blood cells. It is used to diagnose hemolytic anemia when the antibodies are attacking the red blood cells.

Indirect Coombs Test

The indirect Coombs test is a blood test that detects antibodies in the serum. It is used to diagnose autoimmune hemolytic anemia, which is caused by antibodies attacking healthy red blood cells.

Haptoglobin Test

The haptoglobin test is a blood test that measures the amount of haptoglobin in the blood. Haptoglobin is a protein that binds to hemoglobin and is released into the blood when red blood cells are destroyed. Low levels of haptoglobin can indicate hemolytic anemia.
