I'm a student with ADHD and I'm struggling with certain subjects in school. Does anyone else have experience with this? What subjects are hardest for people with ADHD? Are there any strategies that have helped you or someone you know? Are there any resources or support groups I can access? I'm looking for any advice or help that other forum users can provide.

Math
Math can be a difficult subject for students with ADHD due to its complexity and abstract nature. Students may struggle to focus on the material and stay on task during math lessons, or become easily frustrated when they are unable to understand the material. It is important for teachers to provide students with ADHD with strategies to help them stay organized and focused during math lessons, such as breaking down the material into smaller steps, providing frequent breaks, and allowing students to use manipulatives or other aids to help them understand the material.

Reading Comprehension
Reading comprehension can also be a difficult subject for students with ADHD due to the need to focus for extended periods of time. Students may struggle to stay focused on the material and may become easily distracted or overwhelmed. It is important for teachers to provide students with strategies to help them stay organized and focused, such as using visual aids to help them understand the material, breaking down the material into smaller steps, and providing frequent breaks.

It depends on the individual and their specific areas of difficulty associated with ADHD. Generally, subjects that require a great deal of focus and sustained attention such as mathematics, science, and writing are challenging for those with ADHD. Additionally, organizational skills such as time management and task prioritization can make it difficult to stay on top of assignments and keep up with coursework.

It can be difficult for students with ADHD to focus on any subject, but some may be more challenging than others. For example, subjects that require a lot of memorization, like mathematics or science, may be especially difficult. Additionally, classes that involve a lot of reading or writing, like English or history, can be particularly hard for those with ADHD. Therefore, it is important to take into account the student's individual strengths and weaknesses when considering what classes they should take. With proper support, students with ADHD can still be successful in any subject.

Q: What are some strategies to help with studying for ADHD?

A: People with ADHD often experience difficulty when it comes to studying, so it is important to develop strategies that work best for you. One strategy is to break big tasks into manageable chunks, and focus on completing one task at a time. Additionally, it can help to set aside specific times to study and to create a designated work area. Finally, reward yourself for making progress or completing tasks. This will help to motivate you when studying.
