Personality disorders are mental health conditions that affect how someone thinks, perceives, feels, and behaves. While many people with personality disorders seek treatment, there are some disorders that are less likely to do so. These include:
Avoidant Personality Disorder
People with Avoidant Personality Disorder (AVPD) often lack self-confidence and feel socially isolated due to their intense fear of rejection. They may be unwilling to seek help due to their fear of being judged or criticized.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder
People with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) have an inflated sense of self-importance and an excessive need for admiration. They often feel superior to others and may be unwilling to seek help because they believe they are “above” needing help.
Borderline Personality Disorder
People with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can experience intense mood swings and have difficulty regulating their emotions. They may be reluctant to seek help due to feelings of shame and guilt associated with their condition.
Antisocial Personality Disorder
People with Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) have difficulty empathizing with others and may engage in manipulative and impulsive behavior. They may be unwilling to seek help due to their lack of remorse for their actions.
