I'm new to this forum and I'm looking for some help. I recently heard about ankylosing and I'm curious to learn more about it. Does anyone know what percentage of people have ankylosing? I'd really appreciate any information or advice anyone has to offer. Any links to reliable sources would be great too.

Ankylosing spondylitis is a type of arthritis that affects the spine and other joints in the body. It is estimated that 0.1% to 0.5% of the population worldwide has ankylosing spondylitis. In the United States, approximately 200,000 to 300,000 people have been diagnosed with the disease. The actual number of people with ankylosing spondylitis is likely higher, as many cases may go undiagnosed.

The exact percentage of people with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is unknown, though it is estimated that 1-2% of the population has this condition. AS is more common in males than females, and is more likely to affect people of Northern European descent. It usually develops in young adults in their 20s and 30s, and is more commonly diagnosed in men than women. AS is a chronic, progressive, inflammatory disease that affects the spine and other joints. Symptoms include pain, stiffness, and fatigue. Treatment options vary depending on the severity of the condition but can include physical therapy, medications, and lifestyle modifications.

The exact percentage of people with ankylosing spondylitis is unknown, as it is a chronic condition with a wide range of symptoms and varying levels of severity. However, it is estimated that between 0.1 to 1 percent of the population have ankylosing spondylitis. It is also estimated that up to 4 percent of people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) also have ankylosing spondylitis. The prevalence of ankylosing spondylitis is higher among men than women, with the ratio of affected men to women estimated at approximately 2 to 1.
