I'm hoping someone can help me out with some research I'm doing. I'm trying to find out what organ or organs azithromycin affects. I know it's an antibiotic but I'm not sure what organs it specifically targets. Is there anyone out there who can give me some insight on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic used to treat a wide range of infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It does not affect any specific organ in the body, but it can cause side effects that affect the digestive system, liver, and heart. The most common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and headache. Less common side effects include rash, itching, and joint pain.
