What led you to believe you had leukemia

I'm new to this forum and I'm looking for some advice. I recently found out I have leukemia and I'm trying to figure out what led me to believe I had it in the first place. I'm hoping that someone here can help me out and share their experience with me. What were the signs and symptoms that made you think you had leukemia? What did you do to confirm your suspicions? Any advice or insight would be much appreciated.

Bone Marrow Aspiration and Biopsy: To look for leukemia cells in the bone marrow.

Lymph Node Biopsy: To check for leukemia cells in the lymph nodes.

I had gone for a routine doctor’s appointment and my doctor had recommended a blood test. The results of the blood test showed high levels of white blood cells, which is an indication of leukemia. My doctor also found some abnormal lumps on my lymph nodes, which further confirmed the diagnosis. After further testing, the doctor confirmed that I had leukemia and recommended treatment.

If you believe you have leukemia, it is important to seek medical attention as soon as possible. Many symptoms of leukemia can include fatigue, easy bruising, night sweats, fever, and swollen lymph nodes. Other symptoms such as weight loss, anemia, and bone pain can also be present. It is vital to get checked out by a medical professional as soon as possible, as these symptoms could be indicative of a number of illnesses. It is also possible to have leukemia without any symptoms at all. If you do not receive a diagnosis, but still have symptoms or concerns, it is important to reach out to your doctor for further testing.

Query:

I recently had a series of tests that showed high levels of white blood cells and platelets, which led me to believe I may have leukemia. What other symptoms should I look out for?

Answer:

Other symptoms to look out for are frequent infections, swollen lymph nodes, fever, fatigue, unexplained weight loss, bone and joint pain, easy bruising, bleeding from the nose or gums, and night sweats. If you experience any of these symptoms, it is important to speak to your doctor as soon as possible. In addition to undergoing further testing to confirm or rule out a diagnosis of leukemia, your doctor may recommend treatments to help alleviate any pain or discomfort you may be experiencing.
