Psychopathy: A Definition
Psychopathy is a personality disorder characterized by a lack of empathy, shallow emotions, and a tendency to manipulate and exploit others for personal gain. People with psychopathy may have difficulty forming and maintaining relationships, are often impulsive and irresponsible, and may have a history of criminal behavior.

Signs to Look Out For
When dating someone with psychopathic traits, it can be difficult to recognize the warning signs. Signs that a person may be a psychopath include a lack of remorse or guilt, a lack of empathy, a disregard for social norms and rules, impulsiveness, and a grandiose sense of self-importance. They may also be highly manipulative and prone to lying.

The Impact on Relationships
Dating a psychopath can be an emotionally draining experience. Psychopaths tend to be highly selfish and manipulative, and may expect their partners to cater to their needs. They may also be emotionally abusive and controlling, making it difficult for their partner to express themselves or have any sense of autonomy.

Coping Strategies
If you find yourself in a relationship with a psychopath, it can be helpful to create boundaries and seek out support from friends and family. It is important to remember that you cannot change someone else and it may be best to end the relationship if manipulation and control become too much. It is also important to take care of yourself emotionally and practice self-compassion.
