Asphyxia is a term used to refer to a lack of oxygen in the body, leading to unconsciousness or even death. It is caused by poor breathing, choking, suffocation, or drowning. Symptoms of asphyxia include difficulty breathing, changes in skin color, and a feeling of tightness in the chest. In severe cases, the person may pass out or have seizures. The best way to prevent asphyxia is to ensure proper ventilation, avoid choking hazards, and take safety precautions when swimming.
