Hello everyone,

I am wondering what the sensitivity and specificity of amylase and lipase are. I am looking to better understand how reliable these tests are for diagnosing pancreatic pathology, and any insight would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone have any experience with these tests or any knowledge to share on the topic? Any information or resources that could help me out would be much appreciated.

Amylase
The sensitivity of amylase is typically high, ranging from 83-100%. The specificity can be moderate to high, depending on the population being tested, and ranges from 55-92%.

Lipase
The sensitivity of lipase is typically high, ranging from 91-100%. The specificity can be moderate to high, depending on the population being tested, and ranges from 50-90%.
