Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and am looking for help on a topic. Recently, I've been having issues with rhinitis and wanted to know what the season for it is. Does anyone have any information or experience with this? I'm hoping to find out what time of year I should be aware of the symptoms and what I can do to prevent them. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Rhinitis and Seasonality

Rhinitis, an inflammation of the nasal passages, can be caused by allergies, irritants, or viruses. Allergic rhinitis, commonly known as hay fever, is the most common type of rhinitis. It often occurs seasonally and can be triggered by pollen from trees, grasses, and weeds.

Allergic rhinitis is an immune reaction to allergens in the environment. When a person comes into contact with an allergen, the body releases histamine, which causes inflammation and irritation in the nasal passages. Allergic rhinitis can cause a variety of symptoms, including sneezing, runny nose, and nasal congestion.

Seasonal allergic rhinitis is the most common type of allergic rhinitis. It can occur during certain times of the year, when certain types of pollen are in the air. Tree pollen is usually present in the spring, grass pollen in the summer, and weed pollen in the fall.

Non-allergic rhinitis is caused by environmental irritants, such as dust, smoke, perfume, or air pollution. Symptoms of non-allergic rhinitis are similar to those of allergic rhinitis, but they are not caused by an immune reaction.

Viral rhinitis is caused by a virus, such as the common cold or the flu. Symptoms of viral rhinitis include sneezing, congestion, and runny nose. Viral rhinitis can occur at any time of the year.

In conclusion, rhinitis can occur at any time of the year and can be caused by allergies, irritants, or viruses. Allergic rhinitis is the most common type of rhinitis and typically occurs seasonally, when certain types of pollen are in the air. Non-allergic rhinitis is caused by environmental irritants, and viral rhinitis is caused by a virus.
