The recommended exercise for AFib (Atrial Fibrillation) depends on the individual's condition and overall health. However, there are some general guidelines to follow.

Regular Exercise

Regular exercise is important for overall good health and can help manage symptoms of AFib. Moderate aerobic exercise, such as brisk walking, swimming, or biking, is recommended for most people. Strenuous exercise should be avoided. It is important to talk to your doctor before beginning any exercise program.

Stress Reduction

Stress can worsen symptoms of AFib and lead to further arrhythmias. Stress reduction techniques such as yoga, meditation, and tai chi can help reduce stress and improve overall wellbeing.

Weight Management

Being overweight can increase the risk of AFib and its associated risks. Regular exercise and a healthy diet can help maintain a healthy weight and reduce the risk of AFib.

Healthy Lifestyle

A healthy lifestyle is important for managing symptoms of AFib. Eating a healthy diet, avoiding excessive alcohol and caffeine, getting adequate sleep, and managing stress are all important for good health.

When it comes to recommended exercise for AFib, it is important to focus on low-impact activities such as walking, swimming, and yoga. The best approach is to start slowly and gradually increase your activity level over time. This will help your body adjust to the physical activity and reduce the risk of triggering an AFib episode. Additionally, speak to your doctor about which exercises are best for you, and take any medications prescribed to help manage your condition.

Exercising when you have atrial fibrillation (AFib) can be beneficial, as long as it is done in moderation. It is recommended to exercise for 30 minutes a day, 3-4 times a week. Low-impact exercises such as walking, jogging, swimming, biking, and yoga are all good choices. It is important to avoid extreme exercise or any exercise that causes fatigue or rapid heart rate. Always check with your doctor before beginning any new exercise program, to ensure that it is safe for you.
