Hello everyone! I am hoping to get some help with a question I have about diverticular disease. I have heard it is sometimes referred to by another name, but I can't quite remember what it is. Is anyone familiar with this topic and could tell me what the other name for diverticular disease is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The most common name for diverticular disease is diverticular disease of the colon. It is also known as diverticulosis, diverticulitis, or colonic diverticulosis. This condition occurs when small, bulging pouches called diverticula form in the walls of the large intestine and become inflamed or infected. Symptoms of this condition can include abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, and changes in bowel habits. If left untreated, it can lead to complications such as bleeding, abscesses, and bowel obstruction. Treatment typically includes dietary changes, antibiotics, and, in some cases, surgery.

Diverticular disease is sometimes referred to as diverticulosis. This is an inflammatory condition of the digestive system in which the inner lining of the large intestine bulges outward, forming small, bulging pouches called diverticula. Symptoms often include abdominal pain, bloating, and constipation.
