"Hello everyone! I'm new here and I'm trying to learn more about personality disorders. I was wondering if anyone could help me out and explain what the most common factor is in all personality disorders? I'm especially interested in learning about any patterns or commonalities that all types of personality disorders share.

The most common factor in all personality disorders is difficulty with interpersonal relationships. People with personality disorders tend to have trouble with social interactions, forming and maintaining relationships, and managing their emotions. They also tend to have an unstable sense of self and difficulty with impulse control. Additionally, people with personality disorders often display maladaptive patterns of behavior, thought, and emotion that are not typically seen in healthy individuals. These issues can lead to difficulty functioning socially and professionally.
