Hemolytic jaundice is a condition in which the body's red blood cells are destroyed faster than they can be replaced. It is usually caused by a genetic disorder or an autoimmune condition. The hallmark of hemolytic jaundice is a yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice). Other symptoms may include dark urine, fatigue, shortness of breath, and pale stools. Treatment depends on the underlying cause and may involve medications, blood transfusions, or other therapies.
