Hello everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me understand what the hallmark of chronic pancreatitis is. I have been reading up on this condition and I know that it is a long-term inflammatory disorder of the pancreas, however I'm not sure what the primary symptoms of the condition are. Can anyone provide me with some insight into this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chronic pancreatitis is a long-term inflammation of the pancreas. It is a progressive disease in which the pancreas is damaged, leading to reduced or absent digestive enzymes and insulin production. The hallmark of chronic pancreatitis is abdominal pain. This pain can be severe and may be localized around the pancreas or may radiate to the back, chest, or abdomen. Other symptoms associated with chronic pancreatitis can include weight loss, nausea, and vomiting.
