The Apgar score for severe asphyxia is usually 0-3. This score is used to measure the health of a newborn baby immediately after birth. A score of 0-3 indicates that the baby is in critical condition and needs immediate medical attention. Factors such as heart rate, respiratory effort, muscle tone, reflexes, and color are used to calculate the Apgar score. A score of 7 or above is considered normal.
