Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and am hoping to get some insight and help from other users. I recently heard about something called 'Marsupialization of teeth' and am curious to learn more about it. Can anyone explain what it is, and what the process looks like? Any information, resources, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Marsupialization of teeth is a dental treatment used to treat patients with an abscessed tooth and/or gum infection. This procedure involves draining the infection from the tooth, and then partially sealing off the area to allow for healing and to prevent further infection. This is achieved by forming a 'pouch' or 'marsupium' around the affected area using dental floss, sutures or a special material. The pouch is then filled with a medicated material to allow for healing and to prevent further infection. The pouch or marsupium is then sutured or sealed off to allow for healing and to prevent further infection. The procedure can be done in one visit and generally does not require any anaesthetic.
