Hi everyone,

I'm looking for help on understanding what asphyxia is in simple terms and I was hoping someone here could help me out. I'm not sure I fully understand it and I'd like to learn more. From what I understand, it involves difficulty in breathing and oxygen deprivation, but I'm not sure if there's more to it.

Asphyxia is a medical term used to describe a situation in which a person’s body is deprived of oxygen. It occurs when a person is unable to breathe properly or when the oxygen in the air is not enough to meet the body’s needs. Asphyxia can be caused by a variety of factors, including choking, strangulation, smoke inhalation, drowning, and suffocation. In extreme cases, asphyxia can lead to death.
