What is an example of suffocating

I'm hoping that some of the other forum users can help me out with this - what is an example of suffocating? I'm trying to understand the concept better, so I'm wondering if there are any everyday examples of suffocating that I could use as a reference.

Suffocating is when you cannot breathe properly due to a lack of oxygen or an increase in carbon dioxide levels. An example of suffocating is when someone is trapped underwater and has no access to air. Another example is when someone is in a confined space, such as a closet or a car, and the air becomes too thick or polluted to breathe normally.
