What is an example of asphyxiated

I'm hoping someone can help me out with this question. What is an example of asphyxiation? I've heard about it, but I'm not sure how it works. Is it when someone's airways are blocked, or is there something else involved? Can anyone provide a clear explanation of what this is and give an example of asphyxiation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Asphyxiation is a type of suffocation that occurs when a person’s breathing is restricted due to lack of oxygen in the air or due to their airway being blocked. An example of asphyxiation would be when someone is trapped in an enclosed space with no access to fresh air, such as a poorly ventilated room or a smoke-filled area. Another example is when someone is held underwater for an extended period of time and is unable to breathe. In some cases, asphyxiation can also occur due to strangulation, choking, or the inhalation of a foreign object.
